NH Proposal Photography

If my heart was beating that fast, I can only imagine how he was feeling!

Armed with a few google map printouts and some directions in an email, I headed off to Kingston State Park to pretend I was a nature photographer.

I heard their voices coming from the direction of the map and then I spied them, matching them to the photo he’d sent. My heart was POUNDING.

I pretended to be taking photos of the trees, the moss, the pinecones. Thump—Thump—Thump. All I could hear was my pulse racing.

Or maybe it was his.

We made casual eye contact and he kept right on walking. I followed along on the upper part of the hill.

They stopped to look at the water and then he got down on one knee.

I was definitely crying. He took her breath away. She was completely caught off guard. Then he pointed me out and I finally got to meet them both in person 🙂

Talk about engagement photos! This was the actual moment of getting engaged! The beginning of telling the world this is my fiance. You no longer need to say my girlfriend, or my boyfriend – you’re betrothed!

Once I was outted, I went down and introduced myself and congratulated them. We filled her in on the maps and the planning. He was for sure she knew because he thought she was taking extra long getting ready for the morning.

She didn’t have any idea, but had wondered why he was being so weird that morning.

But she was SO happy.

We’d take a few photos, and then she’d have to take a step back and stare at the gorgeous, custom, sparkly diamond she now wore on her finger. Then she’d look at him all confounded as to how he had managed to pull of surprising her.

I warned her not to get too distracted driving and gazing. A worthy piece of advice given to me when I first got engaged. 😉

How exciting this adventure was! I’m so happy for them, and so grateful I could be a part of it!
