Maudslay State Park Wedding – Swoon-Worthy Style and Fall Sass
This day was pure energy. After their Salisbury Beach engagement session earlier that year, I had a feeling this wedding was going to bring some serious personality. And it absolutely did.
Getting ready at the bride’s mum’s house set the tone—color everywhere, laughter, flowers, tattoos, and a whole crew of amazing humans. The style was next level. The hair, the makeup, the details. It all clicked.
The ceremony was held at Maudslay State Park, which is one of those places that always surprises me with how peaceful and cinematic it can feel. Whether it’s a full wedding or an elopement with just a few close people, this place works. Newburyport in general is a solid choice for a quiet, nature-centered celebration.
And while no one expected an 85-degree day in October, everyone was just happy it wasn’t rainy or cold. The light was golden. The woods were glowing. And the whole day had this “let’s just soak it in” kind of feeling.
There were glamorous portraits, hilarious moments, and a lot of genuine connection. One of my favorite parts of the day was the mix of emotion and playfulness. From soft kisses to full-on smothering hugs, they showed up exactly as themselves.
We explored the park, took photos at the stone cottage hidden in the trees, and created that little bit of breathing room that makes wedding portraits feel calm instead of chaotic.
The reception was full of handmade touches, including jam favors and a fall-themed dessert table that made me seriously consider grabbing a second plate. Temporary tattoos were a hit with the kids—and the adults. There were games, baskets of activities, and no shortage of laughter.
If you’re looking for a spot to elope in Newburyport or want a laid-back outdoor wedding that still feels personal and stunning, Maudslay should definitely be on your list. The variety of backdrops, the natural flow, the sense of space—it all comes together really easily.
This one was a blast. I’m still smiling thinking about it.
