Cliff House Maine Maternity & Babymoon Adventure

Who knew the phrase “babymoon” had been around so long!? Not I!

Who knew the phrase “babymoon” had been around so long!? Not I!

I thought it was one of those newfangled hipster–millennial–urban dictionary words. But no—turns out it’s been around for decades, and honestly? I’m here for it!

ba·by·moon | \ˈbā-bē-ˌmün\

noun — a well-earned pause to soak up love, anticipation, and maybe just a little room service.

1: A period of time for parents to spend alone with their new child soon after the child’s birth.

2: A trip or vacation taken by a couple shortly before the birth of a child.

There’s something truly special about taking a breath before baby arrives. A moment to reconnect, reset, and dream about all that’s coming next.

These two did just that—with a Cliff House Maine babymoon getaway that doubled as a celebration of their two-year wedding anniversary. (Multitasking, but make it romantic.)

They made the trek from Maryland to the stunning coast of Maine, and it was absolute joy to help them capture this chapter—from quiet moments of reflection to big belly laughs that reminded me why I love this work so much. Whether you call it a maternity session, a babymoon shoot, or just a chance to press pause and get a little salty air in your lungs, this Cliff House maternity photo session was full of heart.

If you’re planning your own Maine babymoon, or thinking about maternity photos that feel laid-back, natural, and genuinely you, you’re in the right place. We’ll skip the stiff poses and focus on what really matters—connection, comfort, and maybe even a little windblown magic.

Whether you’re counting down to baby or celebrating something big, let’s make it a memory worth keeping!
