First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes two beautiful children, two kids in law, and two fantastic grandchildren.  The next thing you know, it’s 40 years later and you’re not sure where the time went.

I mean, you’re not any older, so how are these tiny humans you gave birth to grown-ups? With kids of their own?  The passage of time is such an odd thing.  You can always see it here and there, but you can’t always feel it.  One day you look in the mirror and think, who is that? But you know who that person is? The best version of you!

This lovely family got together at the Cliff House in Maine for a 40th-anniversary-weekend getaway.  With days spent by the pool and evenings spent with age-appropriate beverages and laughter, not to mention some stunning sunsets, the family is strong with this bunch! 

My favorite part of the session was when they broke out the celebratory … t-shirts!  Featuring a bonafide 1978 wedding photo of the couple, and monogrammed with nicknames on the back.  

I’ve always loved the idea of having a wedding photo along for your anniversary session, but this took the cake!
